Severe flooding struck the city of Poza Rica and surrounding communities in northern Veracruz after days of intense rainfall caused the Cazones River to overflow its banks. Entire neighborhoods were submerged, homes were destroyed, and families were left without electricity, clean water, or access to food.
The Church of the Nazarene in Poza Rica quickly responded to provide emergency shelter, meals, and basic supplies for those most affected. With support from district and area leaders, the church is caring for 50 displaced people while also assisting more than 280 community members through food distributions and home-cleaning efforts.
In addition to offering safe shelter and hot meals, volunteers are helping families clean up flood-damaged homes, clear debris, and organize what can be salvaged. Their local efforts are a vital lifeline for families beginning to recover and rebuild after the devastating floods in Mexico’s Gulf region.
Your gift helps provide shelter, meals, clean water, and essential care for families recovering from the floods in northern Veracruz.
