In December 2024, Cyclone Chido struck northern Mozambique with destructive winds and heavy rain, damaging homes, schools, and clinics around Pemba. In communities like Mieze (Metuge district), families lost roofs, crops, and essential supplies—leaving parents and children without reliable food or shelter.
Local Nazarenes are responding with practical care. Working through the Mieze Church of the Nazarene, volunteers will distribute food packages to families most affected and provide basic school materials so children can return to class. The team will also offer spiritual encouragement and train local volunteers in crisis counseling to support neighbors as they recover.
Your gift will help provide immediate food assistance for about 2,000 people and school supplies for 500 children—bringing relief today and hope for tomorrow. Together, we can stand with families in Mieze as they rebuild after the storm.
