The Vidrare Ministry serves Roma people that live in Vidrare, Bulgaria, and the surrounding area. Support for this project goes toward a boarding school that serves three surrounding communities, an orphanage for handicapped children and young adults, several elementary schools, and children and family programs.
This ministry helps to rekindle the hope and joy of local children through Bible Studies and children's programs. Local churches, along with NCM, partner together to find ways to meet basic spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. Ministry teams assist children with schoolwork, a food program provides nutritious food for local families, leaders visit isolated and marginalized individuals, and awareness building between Roma and Bulgarian cultures fosters a healthy community. Special attention is especially given to teenage girls who are at high risk of human trafficking and other abuse.
For over 20 years, this work has made a significant impact in the lives of the children in this area. Several of the adults that benefitted from this ministry as children have received university degrees, and two have returned to the area to teach in local schools that this ministry supports.
As a result of the close partnership with the leaders and school officials in this community, the trust of the families being served, and a consistent presence in this area, Bible studies have turned into the launch of three church congregations.
The Vidrare Ministry will continue to seek partnerships with local officials, clubs, and programs for children and other marginalized people. We firmly believe that God's healing will come to this area as we are faithful and invest in the next generation of politicians, teachers, and spiritual leaders.
