In Nairobi’s informal settlements, many adolescent girls miss school during their periods because sanitary towels are unaffordable or unavailable. At the same time, young mothers struggle to find steady income to care for their families.
This project tackles both challenges at once. Through local Nazarene churches, young mothers receive sewing machines, hands-on tailoring training, and basic entrepreneurship coaching to launch micro-businesses. Their first product lines prioritize reusable sanitary pads for regular distribution to girls, along with low-cost school uniforms, which help families send their kids to school when money is tight. As these businesses grow, they provide stable income for mothers and a reliable, dignified supply of menstrual products for students.
Your gift equips moms with tools and skills for work—and keeps girls healthy, confident, and in class. Partner with Nazarenes in Kenya and NCM to build a community-run solution that protects dignity today and sustains hope for tomorrow.
