Hope and care for Myanmar’s displaced families
Project Information

Since the military coup in February 2021, Myanmar has faced its darkest moment. Civil war has displaced over 2 million people, spreading from rural villages into cities. Violence, instability, and disasters like flooding compound the suffering. Families—including Nazarene members—are forced from their homes, with many finding temporary shelter in churches.

Throughout 2023, Nazarene congregations provided food and refuge for 659 children and adults. Today, at least 150 remain unable to return home. Churches have become sanctuaries, offering meals, shelter, tutoring for displaced children, and hope rooted in the Gospel. Local pastors and leaders continue to proclaim Christ in both word and deed, even as they themselves are affected by war.

In a time when war tears lives apart, the church in Myanmar is standing as light in the darkness. Together, we can help them carry hope to their communities.
